2025 Art In The Park Event – Images for sale

Updated: Sep 19

Event Information and Overview

We intend to set up a small tent at the Art in the Park event to be held June 7 & 8, 2025 in the Glebe district of Ottawa. For this the following images have been carefully prepared and a sample has been printed of each of these. We will be registered as “Astro’s Photography”, and my dog Astro will join me at the event.  As of September 2024 we have not registered and our participation is conditional on an accepted application. If you have an event tent available that will fit in a 10-foot square space please let me know!

I have copies of all of these works and one or more private exhibitions will be held in my home prior to the "Art in the Park" event. No date has been set for an exhibition but one will likely take place at the beginning of November 2024 to coincide with a Halloween party.

All images (but one) are produced from data collected by Calvin Klatt at the Lac Teeples Deep Sky Observatory near Ottawa. All images are original art work by Calvin Klatt and will have a small copyright notice on the bottom right. They will be printed in limited quantities and a certificate of authenticity will be provided with information on the print number and maximum number of copies. As of September 2024 some images are unique (only one print exists so far), while others have been printed up to 10 times already. The most frequently printed images at the present time are the Heart Nebula and the Andromeda Galaxy.

Format and Pricing

All images are printed (landscape) on aluminum at Posterjack in Toronto (White Metal Prints by Posterjack | Large Metal Prints Canada). The standard size is 16” by 24” except for the Heart Nebula which is 16” square.  The cost of printing is $154.00 plus taxes ($174.00 with HST in Ontario) and shipping (usually free). This method of printing was selected after extensive trial and error with different formats and is the best format known at this time. To cover additional costs all 16" by 24" prints will be priced at approximately $200.00. Square 16" prints will be slightly less, reflecting the lower printing costs. Other sizes are possible by special request.

I do NOT use frames because I prefer to mount them directly on the wall with removable Velcro. The prints have a small amount of depth because they are actually two aluminum sheets with a thin spacer between. Not using frames works well with walls that contrast somewhat with the black sky in the images.

Images 21 and 22 below are of actual prints, one on the wall and one on a table top.
