In January 2023 I posted a list of images that I felt would be good as prints. The plan was to have my niece and nephew choose an image but that didn't work and I had to choose for them.

I am hoping/planning to attend some art events here in Ottawa. For that to happen I'll need a good selection of printed images. The artworks must be a limited edition, so I'll be providing a statement noting that the images are some # of a limited print run (perhaps 20?).

I print my images at Posterjack in Toronto, choosing their matte white metal prints (usually 16"x24", costing $154.00 plus tax and free shipping). I have tried different print shops and other formats (plexiglass, etc.) and I have certainly not found anything remotely as good as the aluminum sheets at Posterjack. Some friends of mine purchased an image of Andromeda on the internet and then saw my print of this same object. They had to swallow their pride, toss the other junk in the garbage and buy one of my images, printed at Posterjack. I met someone in Mexico during the eclipse and he asked for two prints to be delivered to his home in Alberta. Two people in the Cayman Islands have images plus family and friends in Canada.

I have printed images for people in Edmonton and Vancouver and had them delivered by Posterjack (free delivery). Posterjack has sales quite frequently, so I usually get 25 to 30% off the listed price by waiting for a sale. A recent purchase of a 16"x24" image, delivered to Vancouver (7% PST), on sale at 30% off, cost $120.74 after taxes. As I was writing this a "VIP Sale" slip was dropped in my mailbox: 35% off up to three prints from Posterjack for their "best customers"! Offer ends September 12, 2024.

I do NOT buy frames for the metal prints because I prefer to mount them directly on the wall with removable Velcro. The prints have a small amount of depth because they are actually two aluminum sheets with a thin spacer between. Not using frames works well with walls that contrast well with the black sky in the images. Posterjack has other metal print formats... I tried the "high resolution metal prints" and did not like the extremely glossy finish.

Now, the images suitable for printing (links should open in a separate tab):

As I make this list I keep finding other images that I've already printed or I think are good, so I'll probably add to this list over the next few days. My goal is to have 20 different good images for Art events.
